⁠Create Python wheels of C extension modules

⁠Downloading

Use GIT to get the latest code base. From the command line, use

git clone -b pyx_pypa https://gitlab.com/dlr-sy/pyxmake pyx_pypa

If you check out the repository for the first time, you have to initialize all submodule dependencies first. Execute the following from within the repository.

git submodule update --init --recursive

To update all refererenced submodules to the latest production level, use

git submodule foreach --recursive 'git pull origin $(git config -f $toplevel/.gitmodules submodule.$name.branch || echo master)'

⁠Installation

Pull the docker image using the following command and replace [tag] with the specific variant you want to use:

docker pull stmlab/pypa:[tag]

After pulling the image, run it in interactive mode using:

docker run -it --name [container-name] stmlab/pypa:[tag]

⁠Usage

All images have poetry⁠, auditwheel⁠ and the GNU Compiler Collection pre-installed. Together with PyXMake⁠ as a poetry plugin, wheels of python projects relying on C extension modules can be created.
