⁠CoolBasic CLI Compiler

This repository contains tools for building CoolBasic executables inside Docker. The image contains the CoolBasic compiler (CBCompiler.exe) along with the CoolBasic CLI tools that interact with the compiler. ⁠Prerequisites

The host system needs to be running Windows in order to use this image.

⁠Verify

To verify the container functionality, you can try running the container using the following command:

docker run coolbasic-cli-compiler

By default, the compiler will run a syntax check on an example source file inside the container with no output.

⁠Check

To check syntax: execute the command cbcli-check inside the container with arguments for source file path and source directory path.

This command runs a syntax check on a specified source code file within a shared directory between the host machine and the container:

Syntax:

docker run -v "[HOST_PATH]:/shared" coolbasic-cli-compiler cmd /C cbcli-check "\shared\[SOURCE_FILE_NAME]" "\shared\"

Example:

docker run -v "c:\Test:c:/shared" coolbasic-cli-compiler cmd /C cbcli-check "\shared\example.cb" "\shared\"

⁠Build

To build executable: execute the command cbcli-build inside the container with arguments for source file path, source directory path and target executable path.

This command builds an executable from a specified source code file within a shared directory between the host machine and the container:

Syntax:

docker run -v "[HOST_PATH]:/shared" coolbasic-cli-compiler cmd /C cbcli-build "\shared\[SOURCE_FILE_NAME]" "\shared\" "\shared\[TARGET_EXE_NAME]"

Example:

docker run -v "c:\Test:c:/shared" coolbasic-cli-compiler cmd /C cbcli-build "\shared\example.cb" "\shared\" "\shared\cbRun"

This will output the built executable on the mounted directory on the host machine.

CoolBasic CLI tools (which are separate from the CoolBasic product) are provided under the MIT license.
