teyfix/tools repository overview

Portable toolkit

teyfix/tools is a scratch artifact image containing CUE, Process Compose, gomplate, Mike Farah yq and watchexec under /tools/bin, for linux/amd64 and linux/arm64. It has no shell, certificates, service or default command.

Copy its binaries into a matching architecture's runtime:

FROM teyfix/tools:edge AS tools
FROM alpine:3.23
COPY --from=tools /tools/bin/ /usr/local/bin/

Use a published commit or numbered build tag for a reproducible consumer build. edge follows main; dev is a local build tag. Consumers supply the shell, CA certificates, configuration and writable directories their commands need. Copying an arbitrary binary does not copy its runtime dependencies.

Versions and image tags are defined in docker-bake.hcl. Build and exercise the tools from the repository root:

docker buildx bake --check
docker buildx bake tools-smoke
docker buildx bake tools --load
docker run --rm --entrypoint /tools/bin/cue teyfix/tools:dev version

The smoke target executes all five tools and checks representative CUE, rendering, YAML, watcher and supervised-process behavior. See the catalog README for publication and multi-architecture checks, or the bootstrap base for a runnable foundation.

Maintained from the source documentation. See published tags and the service integration guide.
