This repository uses the official docker in docker base image that is based on the Alpine Linux distribution which is considered highly secure in comparison to some of its more popular counterparts. The latest version has node v0.10.46 compiled from source along with several other packages like vim, curl, gcc, g++ to name a few. Basically, any package that can allow you to be productive installing native node modules as well as do development and debugging tasks to a minimal if you have to tty into the container.
