tmmam/ubuntu repository overview

I use the official ubuntu image to build my own ubuntu image. The version of the official image is 18.04. Why I wanna build my own image?

  1. use the official image to run a container, and it's too slow to download and install the software packages.
  2. practice how to build an image and upload it to the official website, docker hub.
apt-get update
apt-get install vim

I replace /etc/apt/sources.list with alibaba's sources.list, so it's very fast to download and install the software packages in container.

deb-src http://mirrors.aliyun.com/ubuntu/ bionic-backports main restricted universe multiverse

And you can use it as following:

docker pull tmmam/ubuntu:v18.04
docker run -it --name ubuntu --net=host tmmam/ubuntu:v18.04

Or, you can use it in your Dockerfile.

Finally, welcome all of you to download and use this image to build your own image.
