This is the docker image for Apache Tika server⁠.

It is built on Debian buster image with the latest jre runtime environment. The current installed Tika Server version is 1.26. Docker image tag should match the installed Tika version.

A healthcheck is enabled to remove orphaned tmp files and make sure /tmp have enough space.

⁠Usage

Pull down the Docker image from Dockerhub:

docker pull tongwang/tika-server

Run the container:

docker run -d -p 9998:9998 tongwang/tika-server

A small number of environment variables are used by this image:

• TIKA_JAVA_OPTS: JVM options for Tika server
• TIKA_SPAWN_CHILD: set this environment variable if you want to start tika-server in a child process
• TIKA_CHILD_JAVA_OPTS: JVM options for the child process if TIKA_SPAWN_CHILD is set
• TMP_FILE_EXPIRE_MIN: any tmp file in /tmp expires and is removed after this number of minutes. Default: 15
• TMP_WATERMARK: pass healthcheck if the percentage of disk usage of /tmp is above this watermark. Defailt: 80

Here is an example which starts tika-server in a child process with max heap size set to 1G:

docker run -e "TIKA_SPAWN_CHILD=1" -e "TIKA_CHILD_JAVA_OPTS=-JXmx1g" -d -p 9998:9998 tongwang/tika-server
