How to use

  1. Install Docker for Windows. You can download it here: https://store.docker.com/editions/community/docker-ce-desktop-windows

  2. Run docker. It may take a few minutes to start. Once started the whale icon in the system tray will stop animating.

  3. Ensure Docker is set to run Windows containers (not linux) by right clicking the docker icon in the system tray and verifying that there is an option that says "Switch to Linux Containers." If there is, then it is currently set to Windows containers, so you can leave it as-is. Otherwise, select the option to "Switch to Windows Containers."

  4. Pull down this image. In a power shell window, enter this command: docker pull touchmd/local-content-api

  5. To launch the server, run the following command: docker run -p 55555:80 --name touchmd-local-content-api --mount source=local-content-api,target=C:\app\_Content touchmd/local-content-api --restart always things to note: -p 55555:80 // Specifies the externally accessible port is 55555 --restart always // Will ensure the server starts whenever docker starts, which should be when the computer starts.

  6. Ensure the server is running on the local machine, by opening a web browser and navigating to your local machine's api address and the port specified in the previous step: http://{your ip address here}:55555 If you see the TouchMD logo, then it is up and running.

  7. Ensure the server is accessible on another machine on the same network.

  8. Make a note of this IP address and port number. You will be required to enter it in on the TouchMD Consult / Hub software.

Important: Make sure the computer that is hosting the server has a static IP address.
