⁠Tribalnova Ubuntu base image

tribalnova/ubuntu⁠

An Ubuntu⁠ base image, with the following features:

• non interactive
• UTF8 locales
• synchronized clock (NTP)
• ready to install developer tools, including zsh with a proper setup

⁠Usage

⁠To build the image:

docker build Dockerfile

⁠To build an image using a different APT mirror from the default one:

docker build --build-arg APT=us.archive.ubuntu.com Dockerfile

⁠To run the image, with a bash command

docker run -ti --rm tribalnova/ubuntu bash

⁠Commands

⁠install-devtools.sh

The image includes the executable /opt/install-devtools.sh, which can be used when building a subsequent Docker image to install the following tools:

• zsh (with a pre-defined development configuration)
• screen, man, zip, wget, vim, nano, git, subversion

⁠startup-timezone.sh

The images includes the executable /opt/startup-timezone.sh, which can be used to set the container timezone.
