⁠rteplayer-dl

This is a small command-line program, akin to youtube-dl⁠, to download videos from the RTE Player. A bookmarklet is necessary to extract the necessary input URL.

⁠Usage

# create an alias
$ alias rd='docker run --rm -u $(id -u):$(id -g) -v $PWD:/data trjh/rteplayer_dl'

Obtain the bookmarklet from the RTE Player video downloader⁠ documentation page.

When viewing a programme on RTE player click on this bookmarklet and copy the URL you are prompted with.

# download it
$ rd --debug --video-xml="VIDEO EMBED URL"
