⁠What is the goal of this image?

More often it is required to build C-Libraries for multiple platforms. In our case, p3bridge has to be built for:

• Linux
• MacOS
• Windows

Besides the platform, architectures like x64, x86_64 and arm64 (aarch64) needs to be supported. In the case of p3bridge, it requires the Java Native jvm-Library. We are using this image to build p3bridge in our pipeline.

Feel free to use this image for you own purpose or extend it depending on your needs.

This image includes the Eclipse Temurin JDK 17.0.8_7⁠ from GitHub.

⁠How to use this image

Please ensure you have read and understood the Xcode license terms before continuing.⁠

The image is built for linux/amd64, but can also be used on arm64 based systems like Apple Silicon, using the docker --platform linux/amd64⁠ option, like used in the following samples.

⁠Login to the container

$ docker run -it --rm --name cmake --platform linux/amd64 -v $PWD:/app turrettech/cmake:latest bash 

⁠Run a script inside the container

$ docker run -it --rm --name cmake --platform linux/amd64 -v $PWD:/app turrettech/cmake:latest bash build.sh 

⁠Running in detached mode

$ docker run -d \
    -it \
    --name cmake \
    --platform linux/amd64 \
    -v $PWD:/app \
    turrettech/cmake:latest \
    bash

This image is using:

• osxcross⁠ to build for Apple (amd64/arm64)
• mingw-w64⁠ to build for Windows (x64/x86_64)

As with all Docker images, these likely also contain other software which may be under other licenses (such as Bash, etc. from the base distribution, along with any direct or indirect dependencies of the primary software being contained).
