Temporal Server, enabling the execution of Workflows in a resilient manner.
3.5K
ubuntu/temporal-server is a rock for temporal server maintained by Canonical.
Temporal is a durable execution platform that enables developers to build scalable applications without sacrificing productivity or reliability. The Temporal server executes units of application logic called Workflows in a resilient manner that automatically handles intermittent failures, and retries failed operations.
Temporal server must be provided with a configuration file to start up sucessfully. We do not include any default configurations in the image. Instead, we expect the user to either add a configuration file in the deployed container or mount a volume with the config file in the container.
Some development configuration files can be found in the Temporal repository.

This rock's entrypoint is Pebble, a container-optimized init process that enables the orchestration of a collection of local service processes as an organized set.
To view the Pebble services and checks defined in this rock:
docker run --rm ubuntu/temporal-server:1.23.1-24.04_edge plan
To run this rock, use any of the usual container runtimes, for example, docker:
docker run --name temporal-server-container \
-d -p 7233:7233 -e SQL_HOST=1.2.3.4 -v /path/to/temporal/config.yaml:/etc/temporal/config/config.yaml \
ubuntu/temporal-server:1.23.1-24.04_edge
Temporal server starts and listens on its configured ports.
To obtain a runnable configuration, refer to the official repository.
To view the logs of the running container, run:
docker exec temporal-server-container pebble logs
Or, for a specific service:
docker exec temporal-server-container pebble logs <service>
Rocks may have predefined health checks that you can list by running:
docker exec temporal-server-container pebble checks
The overall health of your container can be inspected via:
docker exec temporal-server-container pebble health
