Exam attendance monitoring and student distribution across multiple rooms
Requirements:
Debian based server with Java 8 (JRE) installed. Static IP is highly preferred.
Compilation:
Make sure you have Java 8 (SDK) and Maven installed. Further, this repository is missing 'DatabaseConstants.java'. Contact one of the contributors to receive it and place it inside 'src/main/java/database/'.
Execute 'mvn clean', then 'mvn package'. This should create the executable 'student-tracking-1.jar' in 'target/'. It will also run all JUnit tests, ensuring correctness.
Deployment:
---On Docker---
Simply use the provided Dockerfile
---On any other debian based server---
Copy the following files:
The last file mentioned is optional. It provides a self-signed certificate used for SSL / HTTPS, so you may use one of your own. If you do, make sure to update the entries in app.properties accordingly.
Upon first setup, run 'gen_keys.sh'.
To start, run 'app.sh'.
Afterwards, you can reach the tool via ‘https://your-server-ip:8080/lti/’, e.g. using LTI4Win. As the SSL certificate is self-signed, you may need to instruct your browser to accept it. To access the configuration file, you may request it via ‘https://your-server-ip:8080/lti/config/’.
