⁠Stream stress test

Start the container. The log files are saved into $PWD/logs.

docker pull vpalmisano/stream-stress-test:latest
docker run -d --name=stream-stress-test \
    -e HTTP_URL=https://ct.garr.tv/stream/5dc1812ca662b4001a6b192b \
    -e WORKERS=1 \
    -e SESSIONS=100 \
    -e SPAWN_PERIOD=100 \
    -v $PWD/logs:/logs \
    -e LOG_PATH=/logs \
    vpalmisano/stream-stress-test:latest

# log
docker logs -f stream-stress-test

# stops and remove the container
docker rm -f stream-stress-test

Environment variables:

• HTTP_URL=<url>: the garr.tv stream url to test.
• HTTP_HOST_IP=<IP>: optional, resolves the <url> hostname with this IP address.
• ENABLE_LEVEL_CONTROL=<0|1>: default: 1. Enables the playback level controller.
• SHOW_STATS=<0|1>: if stats should be written on stdout.
• WORKERS=<number> default: 1: the number of workers to start. Should be less or equal the available cpus number.
• SESSIONS=<number> default: 1. The number of sessions to start per worker.
• SPAWN_PERIOD=<number> default: 500. The sessions spawn period (in milliseconds).
• LOG_PATH=<path>: if set, a .csv log file will be generated at the path location.
• LOG_INTERVAL=<number> default: 2. The log interval (in seconds).
