wandersondesigner/wordpress-litespeed-ready repository overview

WordPress LiteSpeed Ready

An optimized, ultra-fast, and production-ready Docker image containing OpenLiteSpeed and WordPress Core pre-downloaded.

Built with Multi-Architecture support (AMD64 and ARM64), running perfectly on traditional processors and ARM servers (such as AWS Graviton, Oracle Ampere, and Raspberry Pi).

🚀 Why use this image?

  • Hassle-Free Installation: Install via the browser or inject credentials silently.
  • Superpowers with Environment Variables: Configure the database, domains, memory limits, or security settings using only the Environment tab of your panel.
  • Extreme Speed: OpenLiteSpeed is one of the fastest web servers on the market, tailor-made for WordPress.
  • Turbo Memory: The WP_MEMORY_LIMIT comes pre-configured out of the box at 512MB (say goodbye to the Elementor infinite loading screen).

⚠️ Database NOT included

Following Docker best practices, this image DOES NOT contain a database (MySQL or MariaDB). Create a database service separately in your panel.

🛠️ How to use with Easypanel (The Safest Way)

To avoid losing your site's files in case the panel is uninstalled, use Docker Named Volumes.

1. Configure Storage (Mounts)

Go to the "Mounts" tab of your service in Easypanel and create exactly ONE Mount:

  • Type: Volume
  • Source: my_site_data (e.g., client_bakery_data - no spaces or leading slashes)
  • Destination: /var/www/vhosts/localhost/html

⚠️ Critical Security Warning: Named Volumes live inside Docker's internal storage. If Docker is uninstalled or formatted, your site is deleted. You must enable Easypanel's Automated Backups (to AWS S3, R2, etc.) in the Settings to save your volumes daily.

2. Configure Variables (Environment) - OPTIONAL

Our image features advanced intelligence that detects environment variables. You can inject WordPress configurations directly from the Environment tab in Easypanel, without ever needing to edit the site's code or open a terminal (SSH).

Any block of variables below can be copied and pasted into your panel's configuration. Mix and match them as you like!

🗄️ Express Installation (Database)

If you fill in these 4 variables, the web installer skips the technical database screen and jumps straight to Admin user creation.

DB_NAME=your_database
DB_USER=your_user
DB_PASSWORD=your_password
DB_HOST=mariadb_service_name
🌐 Domain Change (Migration)

Ideal if you built the site on a temporary domain (e.g., https://test.site.com) and now want to switch to the official one without breaking the site or using migration plugins.

WP_HOME=https://yourofficialdomain.com
WP_SITEURL=https://yourofficialdomain.com
🚀 Performance and Memory

The image already comes with high limits, but you can overwrite them if you have a powerful server.

WP_MEMORY_LIMIT=512M
WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT=1024M
WP_CACHE=true
CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS=true
COMPRESS_SCRIPTS=true
COMPRESS_CSS=true
🔒 Security (For Client Sites)

Use these variables to prevent clients from installing unapproved plugins, accidentally breaking the site's code, or to force secure connections.

DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT=true
DISALLOW_FILE_MODS=true
WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE=minor
FORCE_SSL_ADMIN=true
🔧 Filesystem & Permissions

Use this if WordPress keeps asking for FTP credentials when trying to install plugins.

FS_METHOD=direct
🛠️ Maintenance and Debugging

Use only when the site is facing the infamous "white screen of death" to find out which plugin is causing the error.

WP_DEBUG=true
WP_DEBUG_LOG=true
💾 Database Optimization

Prevent Elementor from bloating and slowing down your database by saving thousands of old page revisions.

WP_POST_REVISIONS=3
EMPTY_TRASH_DAYS=7
AUTOSAVE_INTERVAL=120

💡 Best Practices and Gotchas

To keep your site running smoothly for years in production, pay attention to these two rules:

  1. WordPress Updates: Because we use a Volume that encompasses the entire site folder to protect your files, your site becomes "immune" to direct updates pulled by new versions of this Docker image (the volume takes priority). You must update the WordPress core, themes, and plugins normally from within the WordPress dashboard itself.
  2. Careful when editing wp-config.php: The magic of Easypanel's variables works because we inject a secret line at the top of your wp-config.php file. If one day you or an aggressive security plugin accidentally deletes the require_once wp-config-env.php line from that file, the communication with the panel's Environment tab will be cut off.
