⁠Core tools

This repo contains the docker image for the core tools to build our docker build image upon

The image is based on the python:3-slim⁠ image

Currently installed tools are:

• boxes
• envsubst
• gpg
• jq (1.6)
• python3

⁠Pre-requisites

1. Docker
2. Rename .env.sample to .env
3. Add the following alias to your shell
   alias dotenv='export $(egrep -v ^# "$PWD/.env" | xargs)'
   This will allow you to add dotenv-compatible environment variables to the current shell by running dotenv

⁠Building

1. Run docker build -t ${IMAGE_NAME} .

⁠Running

1. Run docker run --rm -it -v $PWD:/project ${IMAGE_NAME} command
   • ie docker run --rm -it -v $PWD:/project ${IMAGE_NAME} jq --version

⁠Deploying

1. Merge to master will create a master tag
2. Tagging master (*.*.*) will create a tagged and latest version
