websummoner/brave repository overview

Brave

Brave for WebSummoner

Version Pulls Licence

Brave, current stable line, with ChromeDriver, matched to the Chromium embedded in that Brave release, on the WebSummoner browser base. VNC, PulseAudio for recordings with sound, clipboard and file exchange are built in; there are no separate vnc_ variants. Every version is built from the public sources in the images repository and passes the WebSummoner container test suite before it is tagged.

What is inside

BrowserBrave, current stable line
DriverChromeDriver, matched to the Chromium embedded in that Brave release
Basewebsummoner/browser-base (Ubuntu 26.04 LTS) with Xvfb, fluxbox, x11vnc, PulseAudio and full font coverage
Runs asroot
Ports4444 WebDriver · 5900 VNC (when ENABLE_VNC=true) · 8080 file server for downloads · 9090 clipboard · 7070 DevTools

Use

Pick a tag from the Tags tab and reference it from browsers.json:

{ "brave": { "default": "<tag>", "versions": { "<tag>": { "image": "websummoner/brave:<tag>", "port": "4444", "path": "/" } } } }

Then start a session with browserName: "brave" against the hub; every WebSummoner capability (enableVNC, enableVideo, enableAudio, screenResolution, env, …) applies. The hub points the driver at the real binary (/opt/brave.com/brave/brave-browser; /usr/bin/brave-browser is a wrapper script). CH_POLICY_<NAME> variables become Brave policies.

Environment

Set by the hub per session, or by you when running the image on its own:

VariableEffect
SCREEN_RESOLUTIONdisplay size and depth, default 1920x1080x24; the hub sets it from the screenResolution capability
ENABLE_VNCtrue starts x11vnc on 5900 (password websummoner); the hub sets it from enableVNC
ENABLE_AUDIOset by the hub from enableAudio; PulseAudio runs regardless, so recordings carry sound
ROOT_CA_<NAME>a Base64 PEM certificate installed into the browser's trust store at start; PRIVATE_KEY_PASS for a bundled key
DRIVER_ARGS, VERBOSEextra driver flags; VERBOSE=1 adds --verbose

TagMeaning
MAJOR.MINOR (e.g. 1.94)the line — this browser's own line is major.minor, so there are two levels
full versionone exact build with its matching driver, immutable — the version badge above shows the newest

New versions are published here only; the historical selenoid/* images stay usable from browsers.json. The full scheme: Image tags.
