⁠redis on the AWS server

The redis database stores the tasks to be run on the AWS server and is the basis for the Python task scheduler huey⁠. It runs in a docker container and is configured by changing the config.cfg file.

⁠controlling redis and redis-browser

./build builds the docker images for redis and redis-browser; has to be run once

./run_redis starts the two docker containers for redis and redis-browser; both services are then available at IP and ports configured in config.cfg

./stop_redis stops both services, database content is discarded.

⁠config.cfg options

• GIT_REDIS_BROWSER_URL: Url of the modified rebrow⁠ repo; a small flask-based tool to view redis keys; had to be modified to be able to show huey keys

• DI_REDIS: name of the docker image of redis built by the build script

• DI_REDIS_BROSWER: name of the docker image for redis-browser build by the build script

• DC_REDIS: name of the docker container running redis

• DC_REDIS_BROWSER: name of the docker container running redis-browser

• DC_NETWORK_NAME: name of the docker network, hast to be created!

• REDIS_PORT: port running the redis database server, usually 6379; will be also exposed to host

• REDIS_IP: IP of redis database server, has to be in the range of the docker subnetwork!

• REDIS_BROWSER_PORT: port where redis-browser is reachable; will be also exposed to host
