But it doesn't \nlook to be any well-accepted approach to solve this issue (for instance TensorFlow has \n[a dedicated repository for models](https://github.com/tensorflow/models)).\n\nThis topic has been later discussed in a brainstoimg we had in Passau on July 13th, with \nAndré Freitas, Leonardo Souza, Rupert Westenthaler and Sergio Fernández present.\n\nYou can find the [slides](http://www.slideshare.net/Wikier/moven-apache-big-data-europe-2016-ssix-project)\nof our [presentation](https://apachebigdataeu2016.sched.com/event/8mrX/moven-machinedeep-learning-models-distribution-relying-on-the-maven-infrastructure-sergio-fernandez-redlink-gmbh)\nat [Apache Big Data](http://apachecon.com/) in Seville in November 2016:\n\n[![Moven: Machine/Deep Learning Models Distribution Relying on the Maven Infrastructure ](https://image.slidesharecdn.com/moven-apachebigdataeurope2016-ssixproject-161114153533/95/moven-apache-big-data-europe-2016-ssix-project-1-638.jpg?cb=1479137849)](http://www.slideshare.net/Wikier/moven-apache-big-data-europe-2016-ssix-project)\n\n## Features\n\n* Maven plugin to build/distribute model artifacts\n* Consumable/usable from Java and Python applications\n\n\n## Workflow\n\nThe expected high-level workflow is something like:\n\n1. You separatelly provide a Maven package with your model/s, and publish it using regular Maven infrastructure.\n2. You declare your model dependency in your application (currently Java and Python are supported).\n\n\n## Installation\n\nSimply run:\n\n mvn install\n\nin the root folder ot the tool.\n\n\n## Documentation\n\n### Generate a Moven artifact\n\nYou can find an example artifact at `java/example`, where basically you need to place your models\nat `src/main/models` and trigger the `copy-models` goal in your build lifecycle:\n\n \n io.redlink.ssix.moven\n moven-maven-plugin\n 0.1.0\n \n \n process-resources\n \n copy-models\n \n \n \n \n\nOr you can simple use the provided archetype to build the skeleton of you model artifact\n[as any other archetype](https://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-creating-archetypes.html#a4._Install_the_archetype_and_run_the_archetype_plugin):\n\n mvn archetype:generate \\\n -DarchetypeGroupId=io.redlink.ssix.moven \\\n -DarchetypeArtifactId=moven-model-archetype \\\n -DarchetypeVersion= \\\n -DgroupId= \\\n -DartifactId=\n\nYou should place your models at `src/main/models`, as described before.\n\nThe you can normally deploy your models to on any regular Maven repository.\n\n\n### Use the models in your Java application\n\nFirst you have to normally declare a dependency to the model artifact in your `pom.xml` file.\n\nModels are available at `META-INF/resources/models` inside the JAR file. So tyipically you'd \nretrieve then from the classpath:\n\n this.getClass().getClassLoader()\n .getResourceAsStream(\"META-INF/resources/models/foo.ex\")\n\nAlthough models are also exposed via HTTP as static resources when the JAR is deployed\nin any Servlet `>=3.0` container. That has got inspiration from James Ward and the \n[WebJars](http://www.webjars.org/) project; you can get further technical details from \nparagraph 10.5 of [JSR315](http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=315) (Servlet 3.0 specification).\n\n\n### Use the models in your Python application\n\nThe module is [published at PypI](https://pypi.python.org/pypi/moven), so you can install it by executing:\n\n pip install moven\n\nYou have to declare you dependency with models in a `models.txt` file. Each line\nwill declare a dependency using a simple syntax from [jip](https://pypi.python.org/pypi/jip):\n`groupId:artifactId:version` (which is inspired by \n[Groovy's Grape](http://docs.groovy-lang.org/latest/html/documentation/grape.html); \ne.g., `io.redlink.ssix.moven:moven-syntaxnet-example:1.0-SNAPSHOT`.\n\nThen you can run `moven` to retrieve all required models:\n\n moven models.txt\n\nModels will be copied into the `./moven` folder, organized by `artifactId` in sub-folders.\nActual model artifacts will be cached at `$HOME/.jip/cache` (`$VIRTUAL_ENV/.jip/cache` if you're\nusing a virtual environment).\n\n### Use it for continuous integration\n\nIf you are using any CI that supports custom Docker images, you can use the one \n[provided by the automated build](https://hub.docker.com/r/redlinkgmbh/moven). \n\nIn case you want to build a (custom) image based on this, you can build it by executing:\n\n docker build -t ssix/moven .\n\n\n# License\n\nThis tool is available under [Apache License, Version 2.0](http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0).","has_starred","hub_user","immutable_tags_settings",{"_75":11,"_76":77},"enabled","rules",[78],".*","is_automated","permissions",{"_82":21,"_83":11,"_84":11},"read","write","admin","user","storage_size",16880439508,"orgData","recentTags",[91,129],{"_92":44,"_93":94,"_95":96,"_97":98,"_99":100,"_50":118,"_119":94,"_120":33,"_121":56,"_57":122,"_123":124,"_125":109,"_126":118,"_127":66,"_128":21},"content_type","creator",342891,"full_size",319705374,"id",5871437,"images",[101],{"_102":103,"_104":105,"_106":107,"_108":109,"_110":111,"_112":113,"_114":107,"_115":-5,"_116":96,"_63":66,"_117":-5},"architecture","amd64","digest","sha256:8e458e9466acb2379ad50bb754e39e45bbd78d1a9203a039397c5712dbe0d374","features","","last_pulled","2026-09-23T17:04:48.407540734Z","last_pushed","2017-04-28T13:28:32Z","os","linux","os_features","os_version","size","variant","2017-04-28T13:28:31.114376Z","last_updater","last_updater_username","media_type","latest","repository",1022089,"tag_last_pulled","tag_last_pushed","tag_status","v2",{"_92":44,"_93":94,"_95":130,"_97":131,"_99":132,"_50":137,"_119":94,"_120":33,"_121":56,"_57":138,"_123":124,"_125":135,"_126":137,"_127":66,"_128":21},373956888,10416335,[133],{"_102":103,"_104":134,"_106":107,"_108":135,"_110":136,"_112":113,"_114":107,"_115":-5,"_116":130,"_63":66,"_117":-5},"sha256:452515e07fd296d146e24f7aa8e2612631e064e8e6f7d8ebdf30489b7f0e08c1","2026-09-22T09:28:37.748863978Z","2017-04-28T13:49:00Z","2017-04-28T13:48:59.98253Z","depencies-as-string","sbxKitMetadata","isPotentialSpam","isHubSbxKitsEnabled","showSbxLogoOverride","sbxTrademarkText","displaySecurityMetadata","tagAttestations","tagsHaveAttestations",[],"selectedTag","attestationsUrl","routes/_layout.r.$namespace.$reponame.tags",{"_38":152,"_159":160,"_146":173,"_174":11},{"_40":153,"_42":154,"_45":46,"_47":48,"_49":11,"_50":51,"_52":53,"_54":155,"_57":35,"_32":33,"_58":59,"_60":44,"_61":62,"_63":64,"_65":66,"_67":-5,"_68":62,"_69":70,"_71":11,"_72":33,"_73":156,"_79":21,"_80":158,"_85":33,"_86":87},[],[44],[56],{"_75":11,"_76":157},[78],{"_82":21,"_83":11,"_84":11},"tags",{"_161":162,"_163":-5,"_164":-5,"_165":166},"count",2,"next","previous","results",[167,170],{"_92":44,"_93":94,"_95":130,"_97":131,"_99":168,"_50":137,"_119":94,"_120":33,"_121":56,"_57":138,"_123":124,"_125":135,"_126":137,"_127":66,"_128":21},[169],{"_102":103,"_104":134,"_106":107,"_108":135,"_110":136,"_112":113,"_114":107,"_115":-5,"_116":130,"_63":66,"_117":-5},{"_92":44,"_93":94,"_95":96,"_97":98,"_99":171,"_50":118,"_119":94,"_120":33,"_121":56,"_57":122,"_123":124,"_125":109,"_126":118,"_127":66,"_128":21},[172],{"_102":103,"_104":105,"_106":107,"_108":109,"_110":111,"_112":113,"_114":107,"_115":-5,"_116":96,"_63":66,"_117":-5},[],"canDeleteTags","actionData","errors"]
