XMLmind XML Editor Web Edition is a 100% JavaScript, lightweight, streamlined, implementation of XMLmind XML Editor running in the web browser, thus not requiring any installation on the user side (AKA online XML editor or web-based XML editor).
This image lets you run xxeserver, the backend of XMLmind XML Editor Web Edition, for evaluation and testing purposes only and not for any commercial use.
Please do not pull or run this image if you don't agree with the terms of XMLmind XML Editor Web Edition Evaluation License.
This image contains a copy of the contents of xxe-web-eval-M_m_P.zip (M=major version, m=minor version, P=patch level; example: 1_5_2), which may be downloaded from XMLmind XML Editor Web Edition. It was built using the following Dockerfile (see also eclipse-temurin):
FROM eclipse-temurin:21
RUN mkdir -p /opt/xxew
COPY . /opt/xxew/
# Allow group members to write your files.
RUN sed -e '/^exec/i umask 0002' -i.ORI /opt/xxew/web/bin/xxeserver
WORKDIR /opt/xxew/web/bin
EXPOSE 18078 18079
ENTRYPOINT ["./xxeserver"]
Simplest docker run command is (M=major version, m=minor version, P=patch level; example: 1.9.4):
docker run -dp 18078:18078 xmlmind/xxe-web:M.m.P-eval
However the above docker run command is not very useful. What follows are more realistic examples.
Linux example #1 (test it by opening http://localhost:18078/xxe/ in your web browser):
docker run -u $(id -u):$(id -g) -v $HOME:$HOME -dp 18078:18078 xmlmind/xxe-web:M.m.P-eval -faccess +
-u option: run the container as myself and not as root. -v option: mount my home directory. -faccess xxeserver option: access all the files found in the container.
All
xxeservercommand-line options are documented here.
Linux example #2 (test it by opening https://YOUR_IP_HERE:18079/xxe/ in your web browser):
docker run -u $(id -u):$(id -g) -v $HOME:$HOME -dp 18079:18079 xmlmind/xxe-web:M.m.P-eval -selfsign "CN=$(hostname -i)" $HOME/tmp/selfsigned.pfx -faccess +
-selfsign xxeserver option: use or create self-signed certificate selfsigned.pfx.
Linux example #3 (test it by opening https://YOUR_IP_OR_HOSTNAME_HERE:18079/xxe/ in your web browser):
docker run -u $(id -u):$(id -g) -v $HOME:$HOME -dp 18079:18079 xmlmind/xxe-web:M.m.P-eval -keystore $HOME/certs/my_cert.pfx -storepass changeit -keypass changeit -faccess +
-keystore, -storepass, -keypass, xxeserver options: use actual certificate my_cert.pfx.
Windows equivalent of the above Linux docker run commands #1 and #2 (on Windows, the -u option does not seem to be needed):
docker run -v %USERPROFILE%:/home/%USERNAME% -dp 18078:18078 xmlmind/xxe-web:M.m.P-eval -faccess +
docker run -v %USERPROFILE%:/home/%USERNAME% -dp 18079:18079 xmlmind/xxe-web:M.m.P-eval -selfsign "CN=192.168.1.3" /home/%USERNAME%/Documents/selfsigned.pfx -faccess +
macOS equivalent of the above Linux docker run commands #1 and #2 (unlike Linux, on macOS, the home directory is /Users/$LOGNAME and not /home/$LOGNAME):
docker run -u $(id -u):$(id -g) -v $HOME:/home/$LOGNAME -dp 18078:18078 xmlmind/xxe-web:M.m.P-eval -faccess +
docker run -u $(id -u):$(id -g) -v $HOME:/home/$LOGNAME -dp 18079:18079 xmlmind/xxe-web:M.m.P-eval -selfsign "CN=$(ipconfig getifaddr en0)" /home/$LOGNAME/tmp/selfsigned.pfx -faccess +
