⁠What is Doris Manager?

Cluster Manager for Apache Doris⁠, aka Doris Manager is a tool introduced by SelectDB for managing and operating Apache Doris and SelectDB Enterprise clusters.

⁠How to use this image

docker run -itd --privileged=true --name manager -p 8004:8004 -p 8010:8010 -v /path/save/doris/binary/package:/opt/downloads/doris yagagagaga/doris-manager

Note: If you want to run this IMAGE without --privileged=true, you should make sure that some configurations are applied to your host machine:

  1. sysctl -w vm.max_map_count=2000000
  2. swapoff -a
  3. ulimit -n 1000000
  4. echo madvise > /sys/kernel/mm/transparent_hugepage/enabled

For the first time, it will take a lot of time (about 1~2 min, it depend on your CPUs) to boot up and do not worry about that. When see the message as below:

it means that this CONTAINER has been successfully started.

⁠Start a cluster

Here is a docker compose⁠ example:

1、 edit docker-compose.yml file

2、 type the following content:

services:
  manager:
    image: yagagagaga/doris-manager
    container_name: manager
    privileged: true
    restart: always
    volumes:
      - ~/software/doris:/opt/downloads/doris # the default dir which save doris binary package
      - ~/software/doris_manager:/opt/downloads/doris_manager # the default dir which save manager binary package
      - /mnt/data01/doris:/opt/doris # the default dir which deploy doris
    ports:
      - 8004:8004 # manager web service
      - 9030:9030 # doris mysql-protocol port
      - 8030:8030 # doris FE http port
  agent1:
    image: yagagagaga/doris-manager-agent
    container_name: agent1
    privileged: true
    restart: always
    volumes:
      - /mnt/data02/doris:/opt/doris # the default dir which deploy doris
    depends_on:
      - manager
  agent2:
    image: yagagagaga/doris-manager-agent
    container_name: agent2
    privileged: true
    restart: always
    volumes:
      - /mnt/data03/doris:/opt/doris # the default dir which deploy doris
    depends_on:
      - manager

3、 start manager

docker-compose up -d

4、 visit http://127.0.0.1:8004/⁠ and complete the deployment of Doris cluster according to the instructions
