PoC for speedtest over telnet
1.1K
An experiment with telnet.
Apparently a telnet client is capable of receiving gigabytes of data per second. The speed and latency can be quite accurately measured at the server-side. The measurements work by setting a low socket send buffer at the server and check the time taken within the time span, as the socket blocks until the buffer of null bytes is sent. The client is flooded by the server with invisible null bytes as fast as possible and a periodic visible status update that shows the measured speed and latency.
