⁠IDEA Application Server Appliance

This is a very tailored version of IDEA Application Server⁠ aimed to provide a ready-to-use EGTM and IODB environment useful for people interested in IDEA technology.

⁠Requirements

• 64b Linux host as the image contains 64b-only apps

⁠What's included?

• FIS GT.M runtime V6.0-002⁠ (documentation⁠)
• Erlang/OTP runtime⁠ (15B03; IODB currently does not work on R16+)
• EGTM⁠ package newer than the code available on http://github.com/ztmr/egtm⁠
• IDEA Object Database (IODB)⁠ package binary preview (it is not opensourced yet so the source was removed for the moment)
• ChicagoBoss MVC framework⁠ (a slightly customized version⁠ of it, but the demoapp should work with even the upstream ChicagoBoss⁠)
• demoapp example application:
• very simple IODB model (person)
• simple ChicagoBoss controller written in LFE (LISP Flavoured Erlang)⁠ -- it uses IODB to list all instances of person model (class) as well as it creates a new objects based on POST requests

⁠What's NOT included?

• complete technology source code (especially in the case of IODB)
• complete user and programmer documentation (you have to read the opensourced parts of the code [everything except the IODB itself] as well as the code that will be generated from your data models)

⁠Getting started

The recommended way of starting a new container is using the following command:

docker run -d -h demoapp.labs.idea.cz -p 8282:8080 -p 222:22 \
           -v /zpool/demoapp:/data \
           ztmr/idea-technology-demoapp /opt/init

Note that the command expects you to have a Docker on the same computer where you run the web browser as well as it expects /zpool/demoapp to be a valid directory where we can store all the persistent data (database).

Once the container is running, open the http://localhost:8282/⁠ address in your browser to find more info on how to get inside the container.
