Installation\n\nThis section will guide you to install the 52° North WPS and the Catelin extension. You can choose either a **runtime \ninstallation using Docker** or a **development installation** which will provide the source code of the components and the build process how-to.\n\n> There are multiple ways to install and setup a WPS extension. For more information, please read the 52° North WPS [readme](https://github.com/52North/WPS/blob/dev/README.md).\n\n### 1.1 Runtime installation using Docker\n\n#### 1.1.1 Install docker\n\nDepending on your operating system, choose the right one and follow the [instructions](https://docs.docker.com/engine/installation/) on Docker web site.\n\n#### 1.1.2 Pull wps-catelin docker image\n\n1 - Launch a docker terminal (MacOSX, Windows) or run terminal (Linux)\n\n2 - Pull the image with the following command:\n```\n$ docker pull zuncle/wps-catelin\n```\n\n3 - Create a named container using the following command (it will create and run the container):\n```\n$ docker run -d -it --name catelin -p 8888:8000 zuncle/wps-catelin \n```\n\n4 - To stop the container, use the following command:\n```\n$ docker stop catelin \n```\n\n5 - To restart the container:\n```\n$ docker start catelin \n```\n\n#### 1.1.3 Test Installation\n\nIn the following examples, the IP address uses by the container is assumed to be 192.168.99.100.\n\n##### 1.1.3.1 GetCapabilities\n\nUsing a web browser, the following request shall returns the GetCapabilities of the 52° north WPS:\n\n```\nhttp://192.168.99.100:8888/wps/WebProcessingService?Request=GetCapabilities&Service=WPS\n```\n\t\nThe process `fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm` shall appear in the response:\n\n```\n\n fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm\n\tfr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm\n\n```\n\n##### 1.1.3.2 DescribeProcess\n\nUsing a web browser, the following request shall return the description of the catchment delineation algorithm:\n```\nhttp://192.168.99.100:8888/wps/WebProcessingService?Request=DescribeProcess&Service=WPS&version=1.0.0&identifier=fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm\n```\n\n##### 1.1.3.3 Catchment delineation\n\nUsing a web browser, the following url triggers a catchment delineation for the Logan DEM using an outlet located with NAD82/UTM zone 12N and coordinates (447560.16, 46112835.16):\n```\nhttp://192.168.99.100:8888/wps/WebProcessingService?Request=Execute&Service=WPS&version=1.0.0&identifier=fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm&DataInputs=Domain=Logan;X=447560.16;Y=4612835.91;SRS=EPSG:26912\n```\n\nYou should get the following response indicating the geometry of the delineated catchment:\n```\n \n \n fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm\n fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm\n \n \n Process successful\n \n \n \n FEATURES\n FEATURES\n \n \n {\"type\":\"FeatureCollection\",\"features\":[{\"type\":\"Feature\",\"geometry\":{\"type\":\"Polygon\",\"coordinates\":[[[451004.0191,4612862.4469],...\n```\n\n### 1.2 Development installation\n\n#### 1.2.1 Get 52° North WPS source code\n\nClone 52° north WPS dev branch [source code](https://github.com/52North/WPS).\n```\n$ git clone https://github.com/52North/WPS.git\n```\n#### 1.2.2 Get Catelin WPS source code\n\nIn the WPS root directory, type the following git command:\n```\n$ git submodule add https://zuncle@bitbucket.org/zuncle/wps-catelin.git pixime-wps-catelin\n```\nThis will create à directory for the sub module and clone the wps-catelin repository.\n\n#### 1.2.3 Update WPS configuration file\n\nOpen wps_config.xml. Find the element and add the following properties in order to:\n\n- activate the wps algorithm **fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm**,\n- set the catelin data root directory where the DEM are expected to be found,\n- set number of processes used by TauDEM mpiexec commands,\n- eventually, specify a folder where the intermediate outputs will be copied during the process.\n\n```\n\n fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm\n /Users/pixime/dev/taudem/\n 8\n /Users/pixime/dev/taudem/debug\n```\n\nIf these properties does not appear in the wps-config.xml (or their **active** attribute is set to false):\n\n- Catelin.directory will be set to directory **~/catelin**.\n- The number of processes is set to 8 by default.\n- Intermediate files will not be copied.\n\n#### 1.2.4 Compile 52° North WPS with wps-catelin\n\nRun maven with the following options:\n```\n$ mvn clean install license:format -Dwps.config.file=WPS/52n-wps-webapp/src/main/webapp/config/wps_config.xml -DskipTests -Pwith-geotools\n```\n\n#### 1.2.5 Deploy a first DEM domain: uk90m\n\n1. Create a directory on your computer, for example `/tauDEM/data`. Notice that the directory path shall match with the \nproperty `CatelinDirectory` defined above. \n\n2. Create the subdirectory uk90m in /tauDEM/data.\n\n3. Download the files [demp.tif](https://bitbucket.org/zuncle/wps-catelin/src/93d788fa6c16/uk90m/) and [demsrc.tif](https://bitbucket.org/zuncle/wps-catelin/src/93d788fa6c16/uk90m/) and copy them in `/tauDEM/data/uk90m`.\n\n#### 1.2.6 Test Installation\n\nIn the following examples, the use of the port 8080 is assumed by the Tomcat server, as well as the availability of the uk90m domain DEM.\n\n##### 1.2.6.1 GetCapabilities\n\nUsing a web browser, the following request shall returns the GetCapabilities of the 52° north WPS:\n\n```\nhttp://localhost:8080/wps/WebProcessingService?Request=GetCapabilities&Service=WPS\n```\n\nThe process `fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm` shall appear in the response:\n\n```\n\n fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm\n\tfr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm\n\n```\n\n##### 1.2.6.2 DescribeProcess\n\nUsing a web browser, the following request shall return the description of the catchment delineation algorithm:\n\n```\nhttp://localhost:8080/wps/WebProcessingService?Request=DescribeProcess&Service=WPS&version=1.0.0&identifier=fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm\n```\n\n##### 1.2.6.3 Catchment delineation\n\nUsing a web browser, the following url triggers a catchment delineation for the uk90m DEM and an outlet with the latlon coordinates (53.6768, -0.6877):\n\n```\nhttp://localhost:8080/wps/WebProcessingService?Request=Execute&Service=WPS&version=1.0.0&identifier=fr.pixime.wps.catelin.CatchmentDelineationAlgorithm&DataInputs=Domain=uk90m;X=-0.6877;Y=53.6768;SRS=EPSG:4326\n```\n\nYou should get the following response indicating the geometry of the delineated catchment:\n\n```\n\n \n FEATURES\n FEATURES\n \n \n {\"type\":\"FeatureCollection\",\"features\":[{\"type\":\"Feature\",\"geometry\":{\"type\":\"MultiPolygon\",\"coordinates\":[[[[-2.3233,52.9388],[-2.3233,52.9379], ...\n ...\n```","has_starred","hub_user","immutable_tags_settings",{"_75":11,"_76":77},"enabled","rules",[78],".*","is_automated","permissions",{"_82":21,"_83":11,"_84":11},"read","write","admin","user","storage_size",14110919502,"orgData","recentTags",[91],{"_92":44,"_93":94,"_95":96,"_97":98,"_99":100,"_50":118,"_119":94,"_120":33,"_121":56,"_57":122,"_123":124,"_125":109,"_126":118,"_127":66,"_128":21},"content_type","creator",600469,"full_size",2413329563,"id",1957511,"images",[101],{"_102":103,"_104":105,"_106":107,"_108":109,"_110":111,"_112":107,"_113":107,"_114":-5,"_115":116,"_63":66,"_117":-5},"architecture","amd64","digest","sha256:ddf36018022be812faf7f2609a1a9f940a368a64f0670e29d2e509376caa83f4","features","","last_pulled","2026-10-01T10:48:40.835654448Z","last_pushed","2016-02-13T09:37:02Z","os","os_features","os_version","size",2413330459,"variant","2016-02-13T09:37:02.241606Z","last_updater","last_updater_username","media_type","latest","repository",519945,"tag_last_pulled","tag_last_pushed","tag_status","v2","sbxKitMetadata","isPotentialSpam","isHubSbxKitsEnabled","showSbxLogoOverride","sbxTrademarkText","displaySecurityMetadata","tagAttestations","tagsHaveAttestations",[],"selectedTag","attestationsUrl","routes/_layout.r.$namespace.$reponame.tags",{"_38":142,"_149":150,"_136":159,"_160":11},{"_40":143,"_42":144,"_45":46,"_47":48,"_49":11,"_50":51,"_52":53,"_54":145,"_57":35,"_32":33,"_58":59,"_60":-5,"_61":62,"_63":64,"_65":66,"_67":-5,"_68":62,"_69":70,"_71":11,"_72":33,"_73":146,"_79":21,"_80":148,"_85":33,"_86":87},[],[44],[56],{"_75":11,"_76":147},[78],{"_82":21,"_83":11,"_84":11},"tags",{"_151":64,"_152":-5,"_153":-5,"_154":155},"count","next","previous","results",[156],{"_92":44,"_93":94,"_95":96,"_97":98,"_99":157,"_50":118,"_119":94,"_120":33,"_121":56,"_57":122,"_123":124,"_125":109,"_126":118,"_127":66,"_128":21},[158],{"_102":103,"_104":105,"_106":107,"_108":109,"_110":111,"_112":107,"_113":107,"_114":-5,"_115":116,"_63":66,"_117":-5},[],"canDeleteTags","actionData","errors"]
