Note:

The setup has been only tested on the Ubuntu operating system.

It is assumed that Docker is installed.

It is assumed that if the Docker container is to take advantage of an NVIDIA GPU, the host machine has been properly configured by installing the necessary NVIDIA GPU drivers and the NVIDIA Container Toolkit.

You will need the AutoDRIVE Devkit image to work with this AutoDRIVE Simulator image.

Pull AutoDRIVE Simulator Container:

docker pull autodriveecosystem/autodrive_nigel_sim:<TAG>

Run AutoDRIVE Simulator Container:

  1. Enable display forwarding:

    xhost local:root

  2. Run the container at entrypoint:

docker run --name autodrive_nigel_sim --rm -it --entrypoint /bin/bash --network=host --ipc=host -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp.X11-umix:rw --env DISPLAY --privileged --gpus all autodriveecosystem/autodrive_nigel_sim:<TAG>

  3. Launch AutoDRIVE Simulator in graphics mode (camera rendering will be enabled):

    ./AutoDRIVE\ Simulator.x86_64

  4. Launch AutoDRIVE Simulator in no-graphics mode (all rendering including vehicle camera will be disabled) by passing the IP address of the machine running the devkit as AutoDRIVE CLI arguments:

    ./AutoDRIVE\ Simulator.x86_64 -batchmode -nographics -ip 127.0.0.1 -port 4567

  5. Launch AutoDRIVE Simulator in headless mode (all rendering except vehicle camera rendering will be disabled) by passing the IP address of the machine running the devkit as AutoDRIVE CLI arguments:

    xvfb-run ./AutoDRIVE\ Simulator.x86_64 -ip 127.0.0.1 -port 4567

  6. Start additional bash session(s) within the container (each in a new terminal window):

    docker exec -it autodrive_nigel_sim bash
