Pandas in Debian 11
The following command could be used to use on a local computer:
docker run -it --rm jysgro/pandas:py378_pa135
Note: the image is based on python:3.7.8-buster that has CMD command so that Python3 is launched.
Thus, to access the shell, use the --entrypoint option:
docker run -it --rm --entrypoint /bin/bash jysgro/pandas:py378_pa135
To share a directory with the host computert, map e.g. the current directory to /data within the container and make it the default working directory with -w.
Share the directory with "${PWD}" to make it universal on Windows/mac/Linux. (Mac/Linux users can alternatively use $(pwd) which does not work on Windows.)
Combining all commands:
docker run -it --rm -v "${PWD}":/data -w /data --entrypoint /bin/bash jysgro/pandas:py378_pa135
Dockerfile inspired by https://github.com/BioContainers/containers/blob/master/pandas/1.5.1/Dockerfile but changed for python 3.7.8 for testing.
Dockerfile:
FROM python:3.7.8-buster
RUN apt-get update && apt-get -y upgrade
RUN apt-get install -y \
build-essential \
libhdf5-dev
RUN pip install --upgrade pip
RUN pip install pandas==1.3.5
