186
Requirements: headless-joplin running, and an MCP client (e.g. Claude Code).
Start Joplin, publishing the MCP port on it:
docker run -d \
--name joplin \
-p 8000:8000 \
-e JOPLIN_API_TOKEN=change-me-to-a-long-random-token \
-v joplin-profile:/data/profile \
sinanozel/headless-joplin:3.7.1
Start the MCP server as a sidecar, sharing Joplin's network:
docker run -d \
--name joplin-mcp \
--network container:joplin \
-e JOPLIN_TOKEN=change-me-to-a-long-random-token \
-e JOPLIN_HOST=127.0.0.1 \
sinanozel/headless-joplin-mcp:0.10.0
Check that it is up:
curl http://localhost:8000/health
Connect your MCP client:
claude mcp add --transport http joplin http://localhost:8000/mcp
Tags are joplin-mcp releases; 0.10.0 goes with headless-joplin:3.7.1. The endpoint has no authentication, so don't expose it publicly.
