Wake-on-LAN gateway — wakes sleeping servers when traffic arrives
10K+
A Wake-on-LAN gateway that wakes sleeping servers when web traffic arrives. Part of the idle-less project.
When your server is sleeping and someone visits your domain:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tvup/idle-less/master/install.sh | bash --wakeforce
Wakeforce uses macvlan networking to send magic packets directly on the LAN:

The Wakeforce container uses BACKEND_* environment variables internally. When using the installer, these are automatically generated from your DOMAIN_{i}_* configuration.
| Variable | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
LICENSE_KEY | Your Wakeforce license key | wf-xxxx-xxxx |
BACKEND_HOSTNAME | Domain this gateway serves | app.example.com |
BACKEND_IP | Target server IP on LAN | 192.168.1.50 |
BACKEND_PORT | Target server port | 3080 |
BACKEND_MAC | Target server MAC address | D8:9E:F3:12:D0:10 |
BROADCAST_IP | LAN broadcast address | 192.168.1.255 |
Variable mapping (installer → container):
Installer .env | Container variable |
|---|---|
DOMAIN_1_HOSTNAME | BACKEND_HOSTNAME |
DOMAIN_1_IP | BACKEND_IP |
DOMAIN_1_PORT | BACKEND_PORT |
DOMAIN_1_MAC | BACKEND_MAC |
DOMAIN_1_BROADCAST | BROADCAST_IP |
